What you’ll get to do

We are looking to hire a Data Engineer to join our young Data Team. Together with us, you make sure that data from all kind of data sources, no matter how big, complicated, or messy, ends up in our central data warehouse, and is robust to unforeseen changes. You will contribute to creating a data infrastructure that people love working with.

Among other things, you will

  • Integrate a wide range of data sources, from databases to external services, into our data warehouse
  • Operate, maintain, and improve our existing data integrations and ETL jobs
  • Automate the training and cross-validation of Machine Learning models
  • Support the development team in putting these models to production
  • Work in a cross-functional team with data scientists and BI analysts
  • Support our BI analysts with data transformations and automatisation
  • Support other teams with your know-how
  • Come up with fresh ideas to make our data useful and accessible to more people

Who you are:

  • Our ideal candidate has an MSc. or BSc. in a relevant field of study 
  • Having at least 2 years of professional experience in a similar position would be desireable
  • You enjoy writing robust and well-tested Python code
  • You have solid SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
  • You are familiar with git and software development tools for CI/CD, monitoring, and logging
  • Ideally, you are familiar with Python's data stack, including Pandas and PyArrow, and columnar data formats like Parquet
  • Previous experience in working with cloud providers like AWS and serverless architecures is a bonus
  • You have very good English language skills – German language skills are a plus

The annual gross salary for this position based on a full-time employment depending on your individual professional qualifications and previous experience ranges from € 35,800.- to € 63,000.-. This includes: full health insurance, occupational accident insurance, public pension scheme and public unemployment insurance.
